Acorn kit auction for children's charity By Chris Williams. The usergroup is meeting this Wednesday, December 7th, in Wakefield to hold two auctions with a MicroDigital Omega up for grabs.
Money paid for items sold in the charity auction will go to worthy cause The Sick Children's Trust, whereas money bid on equipment sold in the bring and buy auction will go to their sellers. Unsold items will be taken back by their owners, as the WROCC is unable to dispose of them due to new recycling legislation.
The Omega seller said: "There is an Acorn AKF85 monitor to go with it. Just tested it, works fine with network card fitted. It suffers from the occasional disappearance of the floppy drive - a recognised problem with Omegas - but it comes back each time after power off restart."
Incidentally, Bablake Junior School is ditching its RiscPCs and A7000+s and is offering them in job lots. The independent school, in Coventry, West Midlands, featured in our article on RISC OS in education and is said to be superseding the machines with newer RISC OS powered hardware.

The event managed to raise 241 quid for the chosen charity, and the Omega went for a stunning 35 whole pounds. Auction mastermind Chris Hughes said: "We would like to thank everyone who donated items and obviously those who purchased items as well."
